Residential Development, Woodsmoor, Stockport
Case Study Reference: 12-11-05
Planning Authority: Stockport Council
Due to the sensitivity if the proposed development, a contaminated land planning condition was attached to the decision notice (DC/050260).
The site was formed by a dwellings and associated garden areas, the historical review identified a number of parcels of in-filled land, which the qualitative risk assessment discounted all but two potential sources of ground gases.
The qualitative risk assessment concluded that their risk from ground gases was sufficiently low enough that the incorporation of gas protection measures rather than undertaking a gas monitoring exercise was possible.
The desk study report was submitted with a revised application for the site (here) and the decision notice for the new application did not contain the contaminated land planning condition attached to the previous decision.
