In order for the development to commence a desk study report was required in order to discharge the contaminated land planning condition.
At the time of the survey the site had been cleared and the development had commenced, a number of trial pits were excavated on the site was part of the walkover survey in order to provide additional information on ground conditions.
Whilst the review of the historical maps revealed a number of potential sources, the qualitative risk assessment discounted all as credible sources, and no further works were proposed.
The desk study report was formally submitted in August 2012 as part of the application to discharge condition 15 (Q0108.12). The memo formally discharging the contaminated land planning condition and the desk study report (split into numerous sections) are in the documents section of Q0108.12.
