In order to support a planning application for the erection of eight dwellings a desk study report was required by Wyre Council in order to determine if there was any potential for the site to be impacted by elevated levels of contamination.

The site formed part of a plot of agricultural land and there was no visual or olfactory evidence of contamination was recorded during the walkover survey.

The review of the historical maps identified a number of in-filled ponds within 250m of the site, all of which were discounted as credible sources in the qualitative risk assessment.
