Due to the potential for contamination Demeter Environmental were commissioned to undertake a desk study report for the site. The data from a previous site investigation report was used to refine the preliminary conceptual model and the proposed intrusive works.

It was agreed that the site investigation would take place once the demolition works had been completed and entailed a detailed investigation of the area of the tanks as well as an over site investigation.

The intrusive investigation identified elevated levels of contamination across the site and remedial works were proposed.
