Erection of Dwelling on Former Allotment Gardens, Madeley, Crewe, Cheshire
Case Study Reference: 14/00436/REM
Planning Reference: 14-06-06
In order to discharge the contaminated land planning condition attached to the decision notice for the proposed development Demeter Environmental were commissioned to prepare a desk study report for the site.
The review of the site history revealed the site formed part of an allotment garden, which has the potential to impact on site soils, and during the walkover survey made ground was identified on part of the site.
Samples were taken of the made ground and natural soils to determine if the soils posed a risk to human health, which demonstrated the made ground was not suitable to be left in any of the proposed garden/landscaped areas.
The desk study report can be accessed through the documents tab from here.
