Synopsis:

In order to discharge the contaminated land planning condition attached to the decision notice and to ensure that there were no risks to the end users, Demeter Environmental were initially commissioned to prepare a desk study report.

The desk study report identified the past use of the site as vehicle storage as a potential source, and during the walkover survey a fuel tank and pesticide storage was identified.

Based on the desk study report a Phase II investigation was required, which was undertaken in November 2009 and determined that the only pollution linkage on the site related to the laying of new water mains.

The reports were submitted in 2010 to discharge the contaminated land planning condition, the memo accepting the reports and discharging the condition can be accessed from here .
