Planning Reference: 2015/1097/FUL
Synopsis:
In order to support the planning application for the erection of a replacement dwelling West Lancashire Borough Council required a desk study report.
Demeter Environmental were commissioned to prepare the desk study report, which revealed the existing dwelling was erected circa 1891 and a filter bed was present on the site. The presence of an electricity substation on the western corner of the site was also identified from the historical maps.
The walkover survey revealed that the electricity substation was no enclosed, hence the use of PCB’s were discounted. Other potential sources of contamination (pond and filter bed on site and in-filled pond off site) were all discounted in the qualitative risk assessment, and the report concluded that no further works were warranted.
The desk study report can be accessed via theĀ West Lancashire Borough Council planning portal here.
