Conversion of Storage area below 40-42 Oxford Road to a single dwellin

Conversion of Storage Area to Dwelling, Oxford Road, Macclesfield

Case Study Reference: 11-01-03

Planning Authority: Cheshire East Council

Planning Reference: 10/4045M

Synopsis:

Due to the site being in close proximity to a silk mill and the sensitive nature of the proposed development, the contaminated land planning condition was attached to the decision notice.

At the time of the walkover the site had been cleared and there was no evidence of contamination. The review of the historical maps indicated the site was developed before the first edition O.S. map and no changes had occurred.

The report recommended the incorporation of remedial measures (hydrocarbon membrane) in lieu of intrusive works.

The report was accepted by the planning authority (memo can be accessed here) and the condition discharged.
