Conversion of Outbuildings of a Public House to Retail Units / Apartments, Garstang, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 1EA
Case Study Reference: 13-04-07
Planning Authority: Wyre Council
Planning Reference: 13/00168/FUL and 13/00168/DIS
Synopsis:
Due to the sensitive nature of the residential aspect of the development a contaminated land planning condition was attached to the decision notice.
The report concluded that there was the potential for site soils (made ground) to pose a risk to the fabric of the proposed building and to water mains.
It was proposed that two samples of the site soils were to be analysed as part of the development to ensure the site soils were not aggressive to concrete and water mains should be specified as barrier pipe in order not to require an intrusive investigation.
The desk study can be accessed here and the documentation confirming the report had been accepted here.
