Due to the location of the site and the sensitive nature of the development a contaminated land planning condition as attached.
Demeter Environmental were commissioned to prepare a desk study report for the site and as part of the review of the environmental data O.S maps it became apparent that the site was adjoined by a depot.
As part of the walkover survey trial pits along the boundary between the site and the depot were excavated to obtain samples for chemical analysis and to determine if there was any evidence of contamination. The samples were subject to analysis demonstrating the soil along the boundary were not impacted by contamination.
Cement sheeting was identified during the walkover survey and it was agreed that additional samples from across the site should be taken to determine if the cement sheeting had impacted the site, all analysis was negative and the report concluded that the site did not pose a risk to human health.
