Prior Approval Application for Proposed Change of use From Agricultural Building to Dwelling, Bilsborrow, Preston, Lancashire

Case Study Reference: 15-11-12

Planning Authority: Wyre Council

Planning Reference: 15/00993/COUQ

Synopsis:

In order to support the application for the prior approval of the conversion of the agricultural building to a dwelling, Demeter Environmental were commissioned to prepare a desk study report to determine if the site soils have the potential to be impacted by elevated levels of contamination.

The review of the historical O.S. maps indicate that the agricultural building has occupied the site from prior to the first edition (1846) map and no credible off site sources of contamination were identified.

The walkover survey confirmed that there was no evidence of contamination or potentially contaminative land uses on the site, hence the report concluded that no further works or assessment was warranted.

The desk study can be accessed here (via Wyre Council planning portal) and confirmation that the report was accepted here.
